1. 100% In-Browser Processing (Zero File Uploads)

SplitXL operates on a client-side architecture. When you select or drag an Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm) or CSV file into SplitXL, the file is read and split directly on your computer using your web browser's local JavaScript engine and Web Workers.

Your files never leave your device. They are not uploaded to any remote server or cloud storage. When you close or refresh your browser tab, all temporary data in your browser's memory is automatically cleared.

2. Information We Collect

We keep our data collection to the absolute minimum necessary:

• Spreadsheet Data: We collect none. SplitXL cannot access or read the contents of your spreadsheets.
• Contact Inquiries: If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide solely to reply to your inquiry.
• Anonymous Usage Analytics: We may collect non-identifiable, aggregated technical statistics (such as page views, browser type, and device screen size) to monitor performance and improve our website.

3. Cookies & Advertising

SplitXL uses browser local storage strictly to remember basic UI preferences, such as your chosen theme (light or dark mode).

To keep SplitXL completely free for everyone, we may show advertisements through third-party partners like Google AdSense. Google and other advertising networks use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the web.

4. Third-Party Services
