2. The Service & Acceptable Use

SplitXL provides a free, client-side, in-browser software utility to split Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm) and CSV spreadsheets by row count, number of parts, target file size, or column values.

You may use SplitXL for personal, academic, or commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or harm the website's infrastructure or security.
• Scrape or automate queries in a way that disrupts service availability for other visitors.
• Use SplitXL for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.

3. Your Files & Ownership

You retain 100% ownership and copyright of all spreadsheets and data you process with SplitXL.

Because all splitting operations execute locally in your web browser, SplitXL does not upload, copy, store, or view your files. We claim no license, rights, or interest in any file you split using our tool.

4. "As Is" Disclaimer & Backup Responsibility

SplitXL is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

While we rigorously test our algorithms to ensure header retention and row parity, you are solely responsible for keeping a secure backup of your original spreadsheet files before splitting them.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SplitXL and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
